1. Cool the burn immediately so as to minimize tissue damage.
2. Put the affected part of the burn under a running cold tap
3. Cover the burned area with a thick sterile dressing.
4. Clean the victim's would with warm water and soap.
5. Give the victim a anti-tetanus injection as soon as possible.
6. Elevate the patient’s feet, or lower his head below the level of the heart.
7. Give the victim a cup of tea when he revives.
8. Don't give the victim drugs or alcohol.
9. Don't let the victim become chilled.
10. Don't force the victim to sit or stand.
