Nowadays, as a result of technology advancement, the media has gained much more power. As individuals are now granted the right and full convenience to speak up and to express their views broadly, people argue about the downside of this situation is that too much focus is paid on negative news rather than on positive ones. In my opinion, I totally agree with this statement.
To begin with, it is because of the audience's interest that leads to the over-focus on bad news. Psychologists suggest that negative feelings have more impact on people than positive ones. By posting bad news on social networks, some people can easily gain enthusiasm from curious readers. Therefore, they get more reaction as well as likes and comments.
In addition, posting detrimental messages online can be driven by the lack of awareness of youngsters. The young may be unable to distinguish the suitability of news posted on social media. They share posts of bad news without considering the content.
In conclusion, it is better to keep the balance between bad news and good news. Bad news keep us alert of problems, however, we still need good news to keep us opstimistic and believe in life.
