My hometown is the place called with a poetic name - the city of red phoenix flowers, which is Hai Phong. I was born and raised here for 8 years, and since the age of 5, I have been able to go to the sailing festival. The boat racing festival in my hometown has a very long history. Every year, in January, the districts start the boat racing festival season on the river. The dragon racing festival on the river is reminiscent of the illustrious feats of his father in the past, and also means to pray for favourable weather and good harvests. At the boat racing festival, people gather on both sides of the river, carrying a lot of lilies, bottles and drums to cheer. The highlight of the festival is the fleet of boats on the river that are full of strong, strong men and good rowers. Each crew consists of 9-11 people rowing boats, with more people holding flags, drums and chanting things like "Do Ta, try to get this prize, Do Ta!". When the opening whistle sounded, the boats flew over the water, the atmosphere on the river was full of drama and the two sides of the river were extremely bustling. At first, they started together, but gradually one team finished first, another team later, whether they won or lost, they hugged each other, laughed and talked very happily. The boat racing festival has become an extremely meaningful cultural and sports activity for the villagers. Thanks to such festivals, it is possible to preserve and promote cultural beauty for the next generation.
