Lunar New Year or Tet is a big and traditional festival in Viet Nam, is held in late January and early February. Tet's preparation lasts many weeks. One or two days before Tet, people make Chung cake, buy new clothes, clean and decorate their houses with plants and flowers such as apricot blossom, kumquat tree,...and make some traditional food. Families expect the New year's eve because the family members gather together. At the mid-night, they watch firework and tell each other about the stories of the old year. On the first day of the year, people visit relatives, friends. neighbors,.... Children receive their lucky money inside red envelops. Some go to pagoda to pray for a happy new year for their family.
