In this day and age, learning a new language has become one of our big concerns in this modern globalization era. Some people underestimate the magnitude of learning a foreign language in childhood. I, however, strongly support the idea that people should begin learning an international language at an early stage of life for the following reasons.
First of all, we can't deny the efficiency of childhood education as the earlier a child learns a language, the quicker he or she can attain native-like fluency. Recent studies show that human brain ability will decrease when they grow up. As a result, young children pick up languages much more easily than teenagers. Also, at a young age, children are enthusiastic to explore and to learn new things. So knowing a new language can satisfy their curiosity.
Secondly, kids are innocent and they have an inquiring mind. They always dare to communicate with foreigners than adults. Moreover, being a bilingual person helps young children broaden their horizons and enhance their social skills since they are capable of making more new friends, especially foreign ones. Besides this, it can boost kids' creativity, listening skills, and concentration to be able to solve complex problems in the future.
To sum up, I totally agree with the statement to promote a foreign language. Additionally, I think all the educational systems should help young children access foreign languages as soon as they start school.
