Every year a festival is (1) ____ to commemrate the founding of our town over 150 years ago. The festival (2)______ for a week and during hat time many local people dress up in old-fashioned clothes, sometimes even wearing them at work.

On the first day of the celebrate an opening (3)_____ is performed by a visiting celebrity at the band-stand in the town centre. From there a colourful procession makes its (4)______ through the streets of the town. We spend weeks beforehand preparing the floats, many of (5)_____ are (6)_____ by local firms and organization. In addition to these floats, there are band and street entertainers, such as fire eaters, jugglers and clowns walking on stilts.
