Khi xưa nhà còn nghèo, mẹ hay mua cua đồng giả làm cua rang muối. Cua đồng cứng nhưng mẹ khéo tay, chiên giòn, đủ gia vị nên thật ngon. Nhìn các con tranh nhau ăn, đôi mắt mẹ ánh lên niềm vui, tay khua khua chiếc quạt làm mát cho các con ăn ngon miệng. Các con hỏi: Sao mẹ không ăn? Mẹ bảo: Răng yếu. Giờ các con đã khôn lớn, nhà khá hơn, chúng mua cua biển, gạch son về rang muối mời mẹ. Các con nói vui: - Cua rang muối thật đó mẹ. Rồi chúng ăn rất ngon. Riêng mẹ không hề gắp.
