=> A ten-year-old Braunton boy camped in his yard to raise money for charity. John Woodley spent each night in the tent that his friend Rick gave him just before Rick passed away from cancer. On March 29, 2020, the boy began falling asleep in Rick's tent and stayed for a year. He spent the majrity of his time in his backyard, only going inside for meals, cleaning up, and school lessons. John helped North Devon Hospice, which offers patients and their families free care and support, by raising more than 105,590 pounds. Rick and his wife were cared for by the hospice before they died. Many people have been inspired by John's story to raise funds for other charities.
