The Coal Thief is a book about a young boy, named Georgie, who lives in a Farmhouse and one day wakes up to the news that there is no more coal in his house to heat up the house. His mom was very cold as was he, so him and his friend decide to go steel coal from a train they heard coming from afar. When they get near the coal on the train, Georgie starts throwing coal to his friend, but to his surprise the train starts moving and he doesn't know how to get off. Luckily for him, his dad came to rescue him. His dad then tells him that Georgie needs to give a lump of coal to everyone around. So Georgie and his dad go knocking door to door and giving everyone coal to heat their houses.
