Street. Accordingly, the reality of traffic safety is assessed in three main aspects, namely traffic accidents, violations of traffic laws and transport infrastructure. Currently, although the number of traffic accidents has decreased, it is still at an alarming rate when in the first 9 months of 2014, the whole country had 18,697 cases, killing 6,758 people and injuring 17,835 people. Comes with that, the number of people violating traffic laws is increasing with common errors such as not wearing a helmet, crossing a red light, going in the wrong lane, ... more serious when people in traffic are disrespect for traffic police, intentionally fleeing, and refusing to cooperate. The causes of the above situation are mainly derived from the people's sense of participation in traffic, besides there are also negatives in the transport industry when officials and traffic police show signs of corruption and self-interest. . Therefore, to ensure traffic safety, we need to improve people's awareness, improve the responsibility and the spirit of serious work of officials, constantly upgrading the infrastructure to ensure People participate in safe traffic.

An toàn giao thông là khái niệm chỉ sự an toàn đối với người tham gia lưu thông trên đường bộ, đường thủy, đường hàng không, là ý thức chấp hành tốt các luật lệ về giao thông, cư xử phù hợp khi lưu thông trên đường. Theo đó, thực trạng về vấn đề đảm bảo an toàn giao thông được đánh giá ở ba phương diện chính, đó là tai nạn giao thông, vi phạm luật giao thông và cơ sở hạ tầng giao thông. Hiện nay, dù số vụ tai nạn giao thông đã giảm nhưng vẫn đang ở mức báo động khi trong 9 tháng đầu năm 2014, cả nước xảy ra 18.697 vụ, làm chết 6.758 người, làm bị thương 17.835 người. Đi kèm đó, số lượng người vi phạm luật giao thông ngày càng tăng với các lỗi phổ biến như: không đội mũ bảo hiểm, vượt đèn đỏ, đi sai làn đường,… nghiêm trọng hơn khi người tham gia giao thông còn có thái độ không tôn trọng cảnh sát giao thông, cố tình trốn chạy và không chịu hợp tác. Nguyên nhân của tình trạng trên đều xuất phát chủ yếu từ ý thức tham gia giao thông của người dân, bên cạnh đó còn là những tiêu cực trong ngành giao thông khi cán bộ, cảnh sát giao thông có biểu hiện tham nhũng, vụ lợi. Chính vì vậy, để đảm bảo an toàn giao thông, chúng ta cần cải thiện ý thức của người dân, nâng cao trách nhiệm và tinh thần làm việc nghiêm túc của cán bộ, không ngừng nâng cấp cơ sở hạ tầng để đảm bảo cho người dân tham gia giao thông an toàn.
