The Khmer people in Vietnam have about 1.3 million people, living in Southern provinces such as Tra Vinh, Soc Trang, Kien Giang, An Giang, Bac Lieu, Can Tho, Vinh Long ... The life of Khmer people are associated with wet rice cultivation and many handicrafts. The language of the Khmer people belongs to the Mon - Khmer language group. The Khmer live by many jobs including fishing, weaving, mat, knitting, weaving, making palm sugar, and making pottery. Khmer men and women used to wear silk sarongs that they weave themselves. Elderly people often wear black tricolor clothes, well-off men sometimes wear white tricolor clothes with bandanas always tied over their heads or over shoulders.
Most of the Khmer in the South follow Buddhist beliefs, the Southern Tong sect. During the development process, the Khmer culture was in harmony and linked with other cultures in the Mekong Delta. This contributes to the creation of a culture of 54 Vietnamese ethnic communities
