Advantages and disadvantages of going on holiday with friends your own age rather then with your family.
Many teenagers dream about spending holidays away from their parents along with friends, so they could be free of adults’ control and feel independent for a while. Even though such an experience might have some drawbacks, it can be quite advantageous.
To begin with, being without adults for some time will certainly help children become more responsible and reliable. They would have to deal with problems in real life themselves, which will be necessary in their future lives. Besides, they will be able to hone their social skills by communicating with people for different purposes. Finally, being together with other teenagers will help to prove their friendship to each other and make some new friends.
On the other hand, travelling without parents has its disadvantages. It can be dangerous, because unexperienced teenagers can easily get lost in an unknown place. Children can also behave irresponsibly: stay awake at night, eat junk food all the time, spend too much money. Another drawback is that teenagers may miss their home and families while being far from them.
To sum up, despite some considerable disadvantages, in general spending holiday with friends can be an amazing opportunity for teenagers to prove their responsibility and to have a great time.
