Nhận xét về nghệ thuật tả cảnh trong "Truyện Kiều", giáo sư Lê Chí Viễn viết: "Riêng về tả cảnh thì Nguyễn Du cũng theo truyền thống có sẵn trong văn học Trung Quốc cũng như trong văn học Việt Nam.
