THE MEANING OF TET HOLIDAY THE ORIGIN OF TET HOLIDAY
The Lunar New Year comes from the agricultural culture of East Asian countries. To facilitate cultivation, each year is divided into 24 qi, in which each one has a transition moment called New Year's Eve. The most important weather in a year is called Nguyen Dan, later called the Lunar New Year. According to Chinese history, the Lunar New Year dates back to the year of Tam Hoang Ngu De (2879 BC). Through each stage of development of history, Tet also has many changes, but still retains the meaningful core of New Year's Day.
THE KEY STAGES IN THE Lunar New Year
The main New Year only takes place in three days: the first, second and third of the first lunar month. However, activities to prepare for Tet took place about 2 weeks ago. The first activity to mention in the coming Tet days is cleaning the house, redecorating the house, and remodeling the grave of grandparents. This is also the time when people buy new furniture and remove old ones with the wish that the new year will all be lucky and good. Each family prepares traditional jam cakes, food in which there is indispensable pickles, pork, chicken ... to worship grandparents on Tet holiday and also for children from far away to visit. On the 23rd of the lunar calendar, our people have the custom of taking Ong Tao and Ba Tao to heaven. In Vietnamese beliefs, this is a god that looks after big and small things in the family. Every year to this day, they ride carp to Heaven to collect everything for Ngoc Hoang. On the day of worshiping Mr. Tao and Ba Tao, apart from the left and yellow cakes, we cannot miss carp. At the 25th of Tet, families worship their grandparents, make a tray of rice to take them out, and then on the 30th Tet, they will pick up their ancestors to celebrate Tet with their children and grandchildren
The days before Tet are when the ancestors have prepared enough to sleep the fruit: globe, enough, mango, fig, banana, watermelon ... are the top selected fruits. The golden apricot in the south and the cherry blossoms in the north are also about to release the flower buds to welcome the New Year. In families that still keep the tradition of wrapping banh Chung and banh Tet, on the night of 29 or 30 of the New Year, people gather together to watch the cake pot and talk until late at night. On New Year's Eve, everyone reunites and together welcomes the important moment of a new year with the hope that all the good things will come. On the Lunar New Year, everyone is up early, dressed well and politely to wish each other a New Year. Children and grandchildren come to visit grandparents, burn incense to commemorate the deceased. Adults give lucky money at the beginning of the year for children. In some places it is still important to storm the land, choose the right person with the owner to come first so that the whole year can sail smoothly.
THE MEANING OF TET HOLIDAY
The Lunar New Year is an opportunity for people to rest and relax after a year of hard work. So this is also the time to take place many entertainment activities, entertainment, and exhibitions attracting tourists everywhere. Not only that, Tet is a rare opportunity for children and grandchildren to reunite with their distant grandparents. The brothers sit together on a reunion tray after a year of separation.
