Ottawa is the capital and also the fourth largest city in Canada [3] the second largest city in the province of Ontario [4]. Ottawa is located in the Ottawa River Valley on the East Coast of Ontario, 400 km northeast of Toronto and 190 km west of Montréal. Ottawa lies along the banks of the Ottawa River, the waterways mainly separating the provinces of Ontario and Québec. The area of the city is about 2,778.64 km², the population in 2001 was over 808,000 people (if including the suburbs, more than 1.1 million people). As of 2005, the population was estimated at 859,704, while the capital region, including the city of Gatineau, Québec, had an estimated population of 1,148,785 [5]. The French-speaking population in Ottawa is substantial, and according to government policy, all services are primarily bilingual in both English and French [6]. The capital Ottawa is also famous for many ancient architectural works such as Parliament Buildings, Rideau Hall (Rideau Hall), Confederation Building, galleries, museums, letters. national institutes and universities such as Carleton University and University of Ottawa.
