The traditional dragon boat race took place in the central province of Ha Tinh on Tuesday, the third day of the Lunar New Year. The annual festival, which dates back to the 16th century, combines local desires for peace, good weather, and a bountiful crop in the coming year. Thousands of people flocked to the festival on both sides of the Minh Giang River. Before racing, the boat racers performed a ritual in which they honored their ancestors and prayed for good fortune, smooth business, and new developments. Every year, a large number of people attend the festival.

Giải đua thuyền rồng truyền thống diễn ra vào thứ Ba, mồng Ba Tết, tại tỉnh Hà Tĩnh, miền Trung nước ta. Lễ hội này có từ thế kỷ 16, nhân dân địa phương ước mong sự hòa bình, mưa gió thuận hòa mùa màng bội thu trong năm mới. Hàng ngàn người tham dự lễ hội ở hai bên sông Minh Giang. Trước khi đua, các tay đua thuyền tổ chức nghi lễ cúng tổ tiên, cầu cho mưa thuận gió hòa, làm ăn thuận lợi, phát triển. Hàng năm có rất nhiều người tham gia lễ hội này.
