$=2\cos\alpha+\dfrac{\sin^2\alpha-\cos^2\alpha}{\sin\alpha-\cos\alpha}$
$=2\cos\alpha+\dfrac{(\sin\alpha-\cos\alpha)(\sin\alpha+\cos\alpha)}{\sin\alpha-\cos\alpha)}$
