In Vietnam, there are many festivals. Festivals in Vietnam often bring many interesting things. Festivals always take place all year round, in all regions.
One of the most popular festivals is the "Mid-Autumn Festival". The Mid-Autumn Festival is held on the 14th and 15th of the lunar calendar every month with many activities such as children carrying paper lanterns, lion dance and food stalls selling moon cakes, sticky rice, fruits and confectionery. Also known as the harvest festival, households set up an altar on the Mid-Autumn Festival night, on which they present offerings to pay their respects before the full moon day.
Not only that, on this festival, we can eat a kind of cake called "Moon Cake". Moon cakes are usually round in shape. It is made with wheat flour or rice flour, glutinous rice flour. Baked cake has a crust made from flour, boiled sugar water mixed with malt, cooking oil, inside with eggs. The crust and filling are both pre-cooked, in addition, there are also frequent vegetarian cakes without filling. Cake crust powder is made from finely sifted glutinous rice, a little flavoring such as vanilla or grapefruit perfume, sugar water.
