In Vietnam, there are many festivals. Festivals in Vietnam often bring many interesting things. Festivals always take place all year round, in all regions.

One of the most popular festivals is the "Mid-Autumn Festival". The Mid-Autumn Festival is held on the 14th and 15th of the lunar calendar every month with many activities such as children carrying paper lanterns, lion dance and food stalls selling moon cakes, sticky rice, fruits and confectionery. Also known as the harvest festival, households set up an altar on the Mid-Autumn Festival night, on which they present offerings to pay their respects before the full moon day.

Not only that, on this festival, we can eat a kind of cake called "Moon Cake". Moon cakes are usually round in shape. It is made with wheat flour or rice flour, glutinous rice flour. Baked cake has a crust made from flour, boiled sugar water mixed with malt, cooking oil, inside with eggs. The crust and filling are both pre-cooked, in addition, there are also frequent vegetarian cakes without filling. Cake crust powder is made from finely sifted glutinous rice, a little flavoring such as vanilla or grapefruit perfume, sugar water.

"Mid-Autumn Festival" is a very wonderful festival, loved by many people. Come to Vietnam to experience this wonderful festival !!!

Of all the festivals, I like Lunar New Year most. It is also called Tet and it is celebrated in every city, every village and every house in Viet Nam. It lasts from 1^st  to 3^rd  of the first lunar month. Tet commemorates the beginning of the spring with people’s hope about a new year full of happiness, joy, and good luck. Preparation for Tet has been done for 1 or 2 weeks before it starts. People tidy their houses and decorate them with Ochna integerrima (in the southern parts of Vietnam) or peach flower (in the northern part of Vietnam) or hoa ban (in mountain areas). In the north or central, the kumquat tree is a popular decoration for the living room. People buy some sweets and cook Chung cake as well. During tet, people visit relatives, giving lucky money and exchange best wishes. Going to pagodas and temples is a must-do activity on this occasion. Tet is the most important tradition in Vietnam because it is the time for family members to return home and get together. They can enjoy cosy atmosphere of the whole family after a full hardworking year. Therefore, people forget their struggles and focus on making the celebration as festive as possible. I like this festival because it is so meaningful and it brings me happiness when being with my family.

Trong tất cả các lễ hội, tôi thích năm mới nhất. Nó cũng được gọi là Tết và nó được chào mừng ở mọi thành phố, mọi làng quê và mọi nhà ở Việt Nam. Nó kéo dài từ ngày 1 đến ngày 3 tháng 1 âm lịch. Tết đánh dấu sự bắt đầu của mùa xuân cùng hi vọng của mọi người về một năm mới tràn đầy niềm vui, hạnh phúc và may mắn. Sự chuẩn bị cho Tết được làm xong 1 hoặc 2 tuần trước khi nó bắt đầu. Mọi người dọn dẹp nhà cửa và trang trí nhà với hoa mai (ở miền Nam Việt Nam) hoặc hoa đào (ở miền Bắc Việt Nam) hoặc hoa ban (ở khu vực miền núi). Ở miền bắc hoặc miền trung, quất là cây trang trí phổ biến cho phòng khách. Mọi người cũng mua kẹo bánh và nấu bánh chưng nữa. Trong dịp Tết, mọi người thăm họ hàng, tặng tiền lì xì và chúc nhau những lời chúc tốt đẹp nhất. Đi chùa và đền là hoạt động phải làm vào dịp này. Tết là nét đẹp truyền thống quan trọng nhất ở Việt Nam vì nó là thời gian để các thành viên trong gia đình trở về nhà và đoàn tụ. Họ có thể tận hưởng bầu không khí đầm ấm bên gia đình sau một năm dài làm việc vất vả. Chính vì vậy, mọi người quên đi hết những khó khăn và tập trung làm lễ hội này vui nhất có thể. Tôi rất thích dịp lễ này vì nó thật ý nghĩa và nó mang lại cho tôi niềm vui khi được ở bên gia đình.
