The graphs illustrate the most common film genres between men and women and show the box-office takings of those in the USA in 2010.
Overall, it can be seen that the action genre has the far more popularity among both men and women than the other types. In addition, obviously the action films were those which made the most money, the figure takes almost half the pie chart.
According to the line chart, 40% of men like action movies while only 25% of women. While the action figure ranks first among men and second among women, a romantic comedy is the most popular among women with 30% but the lowest among men (only around 5%). Another interesting point is that comedies and westerns are equally popular in both sexes with 20% and 10% respectively. Horror and sci-fi movies are slightly more popular with men than women, but overall, sci-fi movies have the lowest viewership.
About the pie chart, what stands out from the chart is the biggest share of action movies, taking up almost half of the chart. Moreover, comedies have the second highest return at 24%. The box office of romantic comedies and horror films is roughly equal at around 11% while all other genres contributed only 5% of ticket sales in 2010.
