ĐK: $\cos x \neq 0$ và $\cos(2x) \neq 0$ hay $x \neq \dfrac{\pi}{2} + k\pi$ và $x \neq \dfrac{\pi}{4} + k\dfrac{\pi}{2}$.
Áp dụng công thức nhân 3 sin và nhân 2 cos ta có
$$3 \sin x - 4\sin^3x = \cos x(\cos^2x - \sin^2x) (\tan^2x + \dfrac{2\tan x}{1 - \tan^2x})$$
Chia cả 2 vế cho $\cos^3x$ ta có
$$3\tan x (1 + \tan^2x) - 4\tan^3x = (1 - \tan^2x)(\tan^2x + \dfrac{2\tan x}{1 - \tan^2x})$$
$$<-> -\tan^3x + 3\tan x = \tan^2x(1 - \tan^2x) + 2\tan x$$
$$<-> \tan^4x - \tan^3x -\tan^2x+\tan x = 0$$
$$<-> \tan x(\tan^3x - \tan^2x - \tan x +1) = 0$$
$$<-> \tan x (\tan x -1)(\tan^2x -1) = 0$$
$$<-> \tan x (\tan x -1)^2 (\tan x + 1) = 0$$
Vậy $\tan x = 0$ hoặc $\tan x = 1$ hoặc $\tan x = -1$.
Vậy tập nghiệm của ptrinh là
$$S = \left\{k\pi, \dfrac{\pi}{4} + k\pi, x = -\dfrac{\pi}{4} + k\pi\right\}$$
