Good morning everybody! My name is Thanh. Today, I will introduce to you about traditional Tet in my country - Vietnam.
If you travel to our country on the twelfth lunar month, you will find people busy preparing for the traditional new year. Many people buy fruity candies, biscuits, and other ingredients to make traditional cakes. Some people buy flowers and fruits to place on the altar. The symbol of Tet in my country is apricot blossom in the South and peach blossom in the North.
Family members living away from each other will try to get back together to celebrate Tet with their families. They sing, dance and share their stories throughout the year and have a good time together.
The holiest time is New Year's Eve, when people say goodbye to the old year and welcome a promising new year.
The next morning, people wear new clothes to visit relatives. During Tet, most people visit their parents, grandparents or travel.
After relaxing days, people will be ready for a new year of challenge and they hope that they will achieve much success in the new years to come.
These are the most popular activities during our Lunar New Year. If you can once travel to my country at the time of Tet, you will enjoy the unique features of my country.
Thank you for listening and I wish you a happy new year with your family. Goodbye.
