You must be very surprised to receive this letter because you do not know yourself as a Vietnamese, but I know that you have watched Russian TV shows and you want to learn about Vietnam. I am writing this letter. To get to know you and introduce a tradition of our country to you, that is the traditional Vietnamese
New Year's Day. Lunar New Year is the biggest and most awaited holiday of the year in Vietnam. The traditional Tet holiday with many interesting customs and holidays has become a very unique culture. Usually in Vietnam, every occasion to prepare for the Lunar New Year, everyone whether working or going to school has a holiday schedule. There will usually be a holiday of more than a week and a holiday before December 30 from two to three days.
On New Year's Day, people will wish each other good things and grandparents will give lucky money to their children and grandchildren. The bright red red envelopes mean luck, good fortune and pray that the children will study hard.
Previously, lion dance only took place in sacred places such as temples and pagodas… Nowadays, everyone can watch lion dance in many public places. Lion dance is a fun and jubilant activity to welcome a very lucky and successful new year.
