Nowadays young people spend too much of their free time in shopping malls. Some people fear that this may have negative effects on young people and the society they live in. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Nowadays, young people live in better, more modernized conditions than they were in the past. It raises the problem that young people spend too much of their free time in shopping malls and some people fear this may have negatives effects on young people and the society where they live. I almost disagree with their thinking. Any problems have two sides: negatives and positives.
First, one of the negatives sides is that spending too much free time shopping may cause wasting precious time buying meaningless stuff. They could use their free time to do many other useful things such as: join in a sports team; learn new things; volunteer; read books... Otherwise, wasting too much money can lead young people into a financial shortfall. They cannot buy things that are truly necessary for their studies, personal needing, and save money for the future.
Besides, if they managed shopping time and expenses wisely, then it is a good-for-yourself hobby. Shopping helps young people relax after study and working time, get closer with friends and relatives who travel with, build social skills through fun conversations.
As the increased shopping demand of a large number of young people helps the country's commercial economy develop, creating more job and business opportunities.
In conclusion, I believe that spend a huge of time shopping could lead to both negative and positive consequences for the young generations as well as the society.
