Everyone has a homeland, everyone has a thing to remember when they talk about their homeland. Referring to my hometown, I will probably never forget the dear Dao river attached to me during the beautiful childhood years.
The Dao River is a branch of the vast Red River, which flows through my homeland. It has been there for ages, ever since I was born, the river has been peaceful there. The river stretches through many villages, everyday, fertile alluvium, the whole river like a peach silk band around the village. Every day, the peaceful, flat water imprints the whole blue sky with pink white clouds. On both sides of the bank, rows of bamboo and green willow trees stand tall and spread their long hair into the water like young women combing their hair, making designs and making love. Every time she passed the breeze, the water rippled, some leaves left branches, dangled in the air and then gently fell into the river surface, indifferently drifting like small boats.
The Dao River flows around the village, the river like a gentle mother, a source of life for the people of my hometown. It is the main source of water for the fields, vegetable fields, a valuable source of seafood, sometimes as a source of water for daily life. It is also attached to many memories of my childhood. In the afternoon, the children invite each other to the river to play and have fun. show interesting games. At that time, the river was like a gentle friend watching our children play, the water was silhouetted with bright smiles. In the evenings, women and mothers dragged themselves to the riverbank to wash and talk after a hard working day and bright moonlight illuminating the water like gold inlaid with silver. On fishing days, the river was crowded with busy boats and boats, batches of shrimp, and fish were full of spoils that the river gave to the people of my hometown.
For me, I like it the most when I sit by the river, bring my feet to the water to feel the cool, catch the fresh breeze, watch the peaceful homeland, calm, easy feeling bear that extremely peaceful. The river has always been here, existing as a truth, it is no longer just a normal river but it is an indispensable friend in my village's lifestyle. That homeland river has nurtured so many generations of children as it is today, so it is dear and respectable.
I grew up in the village water. Perhaps after the day, no matter how far I go, I will never forget my native Dao River. It always existed in me as an indelible memory of my childhood, of my homeland's heartbeat.
