Gọi 2 số cần tìm là x và y ( x, y khác 0 )
Ta có : $\dfrac{x + y}{7}$ = $\dfrac{x - y}{1}$ = $\dfrac{x . y}{24}$ ( 1 )
Áp dụng tính chất dãy tỉ số bằng nhau :
$\dfrac{x + y}{7}$ = $\dfrac{x - y}{1}$ = $\dfrac{x + y + ( x - y )}{7 + 1}$ = $\dfrac{2x}{8}$ = $\dfrac{x}{4}$
Do vậy $\dfrac{x}{4}$ = $\dfrac{x . y}{24}$ ⇒ $\dfrac{x}{xy}$ = $\dfrac{4}{24}$ ⇒ $\dfrac{1}{y}$ = $\dfrac{1}{6}$ ⇒ y = 6
Thay y = 6 vào (1), Ta có :
$\dfrac{x + 6}{7}$ = $\dfrac{x - 6}{1}$ `⇒ x + 6 = 7x - 42`
`⇒ x - 7x = -42 - 6`
`⇒ x - 7x = -48`
`⇒ x = 8`
Vậy 2 số cần tìm là `6` và `8` .
