Reported speech (Câu gián tiếp/câu trường thuật)

`I`. Cách dùng:
- Dùng để kể lại lời nói của một người khác, nói theo ý mình và không dùng dấu ngoặc kép.
`II`. Nguyên tắc cơ bản:
1. Lùi thì:
- HTĐ `->` QKĐ
- HTTD `->` QKTD
- HTHT `->` QKHT
- QKĐ `->` QKHT
- QKTD `->` QKHTTD
- QKHT `->` QKHT
- will + V(inf) `->` would + V(inf)
- am/is/are + going to V(inf) `->` was/were + going to V(inf)
2. Modal verbs
- will/ shall `->` would/should
- can `->` could
- may `->` might
- must `->` must/ had to
3. Trạng ngữ thời gian
- ago `->` before
- before `->` ealier
- today `->` that day
- yesterday `->` the day before/ the previous day
- last week `->` the week before/ the previous week
- tomorrow `->` the next/following day
- next week `->` the next/following week
- now `->` then
- this morning `->` that morning
- the day before yesterday `->` two days before
- the day after tomorrow `->` in two days time
4. Subject/Object
- I/me `->` she, he/her, him

`@` Notes: Không lùi thì với các TH sau:
- Các động từ tường thuật khi ở dạng HTĐ, HTTD, HTHT hay TLĐ: He says he loves football (say ở HTĐ `->` love không chia)
- Các modal verbs: would, could, might, should và used to: He said he could swim; He said he used to smoke
- Sau wish, would rather, had better: He wished he lived in VN
- Với If2 và I3: He said if he were me, he would live in VN
- Khi kể lại sự thật hiển nhiên hay vẫn đúng ở HT: He said the Earth moves around the Sun
`III`. Cách chuyển
- Lùi thì `->` đổi CN/VN `->` đổi thời gian/nơi chốn
1. Câu khẳng định/ phủ định: S + reported verb (said (to O)/ told s.one/... (that) + S + (not) + V(lùi thì)
ex: She said that she was happy to work with us that day
2. Yes/No question: S + reported verb (asked (O)/ wondered/ wanted to know/...) + if/whether + S + V(lùi thì)
ex: She asked me if/whether I knew the answer the day before
*Với câu hỏi lựa chọn "....or...." ta chỉ dùng whether
3. Wh-question: S + reported verb (asked (O)/ wondered/ wanted to know/...) + Wh.qu + S + V(lùi thì)
ex: He asked me who had lived there (không dùng dấu ?; ở đây who là chủ ngữ vừa là wh.qu)
She asked me what I was doing
4. Câu mệnh lệnh/câu khiến: V (+ O)! / Don't + V (+ O)! `->` S + asked/told/said to + s.one (not) to do s.th
5. Một số dạng khác (có thể tham khảo thêm trên mạng, cấu trúc này phụ thuộc vào reported verb, dùng theo từng ngữ cảnh thích hợp):
- Lời mời: Would you like to do s.th? `->` S + invited s.one to do s.th/s.where
- Câu khuyên: S + should/had better/ought to do s.th `->` S + advised s.one (not) to do s.th
- Câu gợi ý: How/What + about doing s.th?/Why don't we + ...? `->` S + suggested doing s.th/S + suggested s.one (should) do s.th)
- Câu cảnh báo: S + warned s.one (not) to do s.th
- Câu mắng: S + reproached s.one for (not) doing s.th
- Câu xin lỗi: S + apologized (to s.one) for (not) doing s.th
- Cảm ơn: S + thanked s.one for s.th/doing s.th
- Câu hứa: S + will/won't fo s.th `->` S + promised s.one (not) to do s.th
- Câu đe dọa: S + threatened (s.one) (not) to do s.th
- Câu cảm thán: What + (a/an) + adj + N + (V)!/ How + adj/adv + S + V! `->` S + exclaimed that + S (N ở cấu trúc What! và S ở câu trúc How!) + V(lùi thì)
- Câu đề nghị: Shall I help you do s.th?/Can I do s.th? `->` S + offered to do s.th
Câu gián tiếp dùng V_ed/2 hay Vp.p
- Với reported verb, ta thường dùng với V_ed/2 (verb2) vì ta diễn đạt một lời nói đã xảy ra trong QK (có thể dùng ở mệnh để chính khi từ HTĐ [V(s,es)] `->` QKĐ [V_ed/2]
- Vp.p (verb3) thì chúng ta dùng cho mệnh đề chính khi lùi thì như QKĐ [V_ed/2] `->` QKHT [had Vp.p]
