Lunar New Year or Tet, is the biggest and most important festival in Vietnam. Tet often falls between late January and early February every year.
Before Tet, streets are decorated with many colored lights and flowers. People are busy decorating and cleaning their house, cooking traditional food like Banh Chung, fruit jams. During Tet, people take part in many different activities such as visiting relatives and friends, going to pagodas to pray for good luck and happiness, eating many kinds of food. Children like wearing new clothes and getting lucky money in red envelopes from adults.
