a/ She sat in the garden. It started to rain.
- While she was sitting in the garden, it started to rain. ( While + past continuous, past simple )
- When it started to rain, she was sitting in the garden. ( When past simple, past continuous )
b/ I met my old friend. I went shopping.
- I met my old friend while i was going shopping. ( past simple while past continuous )
- I was going shopping when i met my old friend. ( past continuous when past simple )
II. Present participle or Past participle
7. The window broken last night has been repaired.
8. A bridge built only two year has been declared unsafe
9. The old lamp made in China is five dollars.
10. The road joining the two villages is very narrow.
11. A new factory employing 500 people has just opened in the town.
12. The teddy bear put on the top shelf is 200.000 dong.
