Near my house, there is an orchard of Uncle Chinh's fruit trees. In the garden, there are all kinds of trees: mango, guava, pomelo... I like your guava tree the most. It is a type of guava, the fruit is not large but very fragrant, very crispy, and sweet to eat. I don't know how you take care of it, but every year the tree is full of fruit. So is this year. Each bunch of guava ripens yellow when burning on the branches when the wind blows through the leaves. The faint scent of ripe guava blends with the wind blowing everywhere. Every day when I come home from school, I and my friends also look at the guava tree with lust. That afternoon, I invited my friends to go to school early to take advantage of the quiet time to steal some guavas in Uncle Chinh's garden. The village road was deserted, not a single person. Chien and I, who have been playing since the beginning, gently jumped on the wall and climbed into the garden. Chien turned to me and asked if you were sure no one was here, lest I get caught. I said it's okay because I've been scouting here before...
So the two approached the guava tree. The closer you get, the stronger the scent of guava. Sweet as inviting us. Chien and I in turn climbed up high, sat on the branches, picked each bunch of heavy guava. They both ate and laughed happily. Wow, it's delicious! But suddenly, in the distance, a figure loomed. I and Chien turned pale. Stop dying, Uncle Chien! If he caught him, he would tell his parents and tell the school that he would only be beaten. He's famous for being the tough guy in the village. I dropped the bunch of guavas and pulled Chien's hand. When the two fell to the bottom, Uncle Chinh had already reached the garden gate. Seeing us, Uncle Chinh:
- You two brats, you guys stole it, right?
Uncle did not arrive in time, Chien and I jumped over the wall and ran away. I could still hear Uncle Chinh screaming in pain. You must have fallen because you were chasing me. All that afternoon, I kept wondering, afraid forever. Afraid that Uncle Chinh would go to school or go to the house. But no, you didn't do anything. I felt nauseous, so the next day, me and Chien went to Uncle Chinh's house. Arriving at the place, he saw that he was rubbing his bruised leg because he had fallen. I timidly approached him and said sorry.
- No problem! - Uncle smiled gently, if you want to eat, just ask. Uncle gave. But I hate thieves the most. But both of them are very brave. Knowing wrong and admitting it is so precious!
Having said that, he pointed to the corner of the door where a large basket of guava was left, each round as a chicken egg, ripe and golden, and told us to bring it home. The two of them smiled widely, thanked him, and brought the basket of guava home.
Through this incident, I realized that we need to have the courage to admit our mistakes if we do wrong. That way we will be forgiven.
