For a proactive playstyle, you have the inherent benefit of being the aggressor. Applying pressure to your opponent leaves them less room to apply their own pressure and less time to execute their win condition, so that's great. On top of that pressure can often itself be used to alleviate pressure from your opponent through making trades.
