I, LOẠI 1:
If + S + V(s/es)/ V(HTĐ), S+ will/ can + V
Usage: Câu điều kiện loại 1 dùng để giả định những hành động, sự việc có thể xảy ra ở hiện tại hoặc tương lai
Ex: If I prepare the food, he will prepare the drink.
II, LOẠI 2:
If + S + V2/ Ved , S +would/ Could/ Should...+ V
Usage: Câu điều kiện loại 2 dùng để giả định những hành động, sự việc không thể xảy ra ở hiện tại hoặc tương lai. (Hành động trái ngược với thực tế ở hiện tại)
Ex: If I had a million USD, I would buy a Roll Royce
III, LOẠI 3:
If + S + Had + Vpp, S + would/ could...+ have + V3/Ved
Usage: Câu điều kiện loại 3 dùng để diễn tả một hành động, sự việc không có thật trong quá khứ (Trái ngược với thực tế ở quá khứ)
Ex: If she had not been lazy, she would have gotten had marks.
IV, LOẠI 0:
If + S + V(s,es), S+ V(s,es)/câu mệnh lệnh
Usage: Câu điều kiện loại 0 dùng để diễn tả một sự thực, thói quen hoặc một sự kiện thường xuyên. Câu điều kiện loại này diễn tả những điều hiển nhiên
Ex: If you freeze water, it turns to ice.
V, CÂU ĐIỀU KIỆN CHÊNH THÌ
Câu điều kiện hỗn hợp là mix của các loại câu điều kiện với nhau
Loại 2 + Loại 3: If + S + Ved (Câu ĐK Loại 2), S + Would + Have + Vpp ( Câu ĐK Loại 3)
Ex: If she were not old, she wouldn't have lost her job last week
Loại 3 + Loại 2: If + S + Had +Vpp (Câu ĐK Loại 3), S + Would + V ( Câu ĐK Loại 2)
Ex: If he had done his homework, he could answer
B: VẬN DỤNG:
- If you go to Paris, where you (stay) _________________?
- If you (swim) _________________ in this lake, you’ll shiver from cold.
- If someone offered to buy you one of those rings, which you (choose) _________________?
- If she _________ my advice, she would be richer now.
- If the milkman (come) _________________, tell him to leave two pints.
GIẢI CHI TIẾT:
- will you stay. Vì mệnh đề 1 dùng thì Hiện tại đơn nên đây là câu điều kiện loại 1
- swim. Vì mệnh đề 2 dùng will + Vinf nên đây là câu điều kiện loại 1, ta phải chia swim dưới dạng Vinf
- would you choose. Vì mệnh đề 1 dùng thì quá khứ đơn, nên đây là câu điều kiện loại 2
- had followed. (Nếu cô ấy đã làm theo lời khuyên của tôi, bây giờ cô ấy sẽ giàu hơn). Đây là câu điều kiện chênh thì
- comes. Câu điều kiện loại 1 nên phải chia come dưới dạng V(s/es)
