tượng hay sự việc nào đó. Câu thường chia làm hai vế, một vế chính và
một vế là mệnh đề quan hệ sử dụng that, who, …
Cấu
trúc chung:

1. Nhấn mạnh chủ ngữ:

It
is/ was + chủ ngữ (vật) + that + S + V + (O) It
is/ was + chủ ngữ (người) + who/ that + S + V + (O) |
Ex:
John’s dog ate my vegetables.
→ It was John’s dog that ate my
vegetables.
Mr.
Kyber teaches English at my school.
→ It is Mr. Kyber who/ that teaches English
at my school.
2. Nhấn mạnh tân ngữ:

Ex: She waters the
peony every day.

→ It was Peter that I met at the
airport.
3. Nhấn mạnh trạng ngữ (nơi chốn, thời gian,
lý do, cách thức, …)

4. Câu chẻ ở dạng
bị động (..chính....
được/ bị...)
It + is/ was + subject (lấy từ tân ngữ) +
that + be + V-ed/ V cột 3
EX: My father gave me a lot of toys.
→ It
was me that was given a lot of toys by my father.
Fans gave Christina lots of flowers.
→ It was Christina that was given lots of
flowers by fans.
